  Why art is important ........

Art in any form can enhance academic achievement. Evidence suggests that children who actively participate in some form of art-whether it be painting, acting, musical instrument, dancing, drawing, photography, singing etc.-perform better in other subjects than students who don't participate in any type of art. Being creative is taking a risk and taking risk builds confidence.  Children should be encouraged to find expression in art to enrich, educate and entertain themselves and others.  Drawing and painting can be learned; we don’t have to be born with talent.

Enjoying making art projects and participating in them is a goal unto itself, regardless of the results.
